Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in training and education but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with RJ Gallegos, President of AVR CE (Audio Video Resources Continuing Education), located in Albuquerque, NM, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We engage with educators, business leaders, and public speakers in training via ‘Instructor Development Workshops (IDWs) and in continuing education courses for real estate licensees.

Tell us about yourself

I became involved with real estate at the municipal level through family holdings and was asked to be part of the redevelopment team for the resurgent Albuquerque Downtown, and then was asked to develop and teach.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The longevity of the AVR CE - we are now past the 20-year mark!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Keeping all of the elements of running a business and keeping up with legal compliance.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Know your product, know your service, and know your strengths and weaknesses.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Contrary to popular trends, you don’t need to engage in social media to be successful. If you have a solid product and services, consumers will find you - I like to tell the doubters that social media is the dumbest thing since daylight savings time and communism because it often causes more harm than good.

Where can people find you and your business?
