What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business is to teach and dance ballroom style or partnership dances! Our main customers are people interested in moving, exercising, disconnecting from daily stress, having fun while learning a new skill, etc. We have a range of ages, anywhere from 7 years old to 87 years, of young dancers!
Tell us about yourself
Well, my family, specifically my mother wanted me to be an artist of some kind; we both love to sing and dance! My motivation each day is, first, God, I am so thankful to do what I do; next is my beautiful family. And last but not least, I LOVE teaching Houston how to dance!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Seeing our students happy, reaching their goals from dancing socially with random partners and following or leading, winning competitions at state and national levels, and building friendships that have lasted 15-plus years.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Keeping the level of teaching to our standards of fun and learning skills. As well as staying open for sure during these hard two years of the pandemic, and after that, we got two years of construction in front of our building, finally finishing this year!! Yeah, we did it.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a great support team.
- Be positive and kind to your staff and clients.
- Invest your time and effort in what you like; it will pay off.
