What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a photography and graphic design company. I love finding people that have a story to tell. I love watching someone's vision come to life. My customers are people with a vision they want to see come alive or a special moment they want to be frozen in time.
Tell us about yourself
I got interested in photography when I was 13 years old. I loved taking pictures of my family, my pets, really anything. Pictures are keepsakes. Growing up low-income, I didn't have money for a T-shirt at a concert, so my keepsake were pictures. My dad was a huge support. As I was learning new photography skills, he was my model.
What got me into graphic design was learning to edit my pictures. I wanted to know more. I have always loved learning new things. I am very crafty so learning graphic design was another way of being crafty. I learned photography and graphic design for fun. I never thought one day I would turn it into a business, but here I am, and I love it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Everything I have done is a big accomplishment. There's no one thing. I am thankful for every opportunity.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that has come along with being a business owner is learning to do all this while being special needs.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Never give up, no matter what.
- Always be willing to learn. Don't ever think you have learned everything.
- Never take an experience for granted. Pretend like it's always a first and have that joy with every opportunity.
