Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Valentina Jaramillo, co-founder of Rise In Love Coaching LLC., located in San Diego, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Rise In Love co-creates safe containers for personal transformation. Our clients are conscious individuals who are looking to relax, heal, integrate deeply, awake, and radically transform in a holistic way. We draw from ancient Yogic, Tantric, Taoist traditions and modern neuroscience and combine mindfulness, visualization, breathwork, movement, energy work, sound healing, and meditation.
These modalities allow the brain and the body to align in order to achieve desired goals. In the world, we live in and the type of lives we carry, it’s very common for our mind and body to be disconnected, which leads to high levels of stress and burnout. By reconnecting to our bodies, we allow our physicality to do its part and help us live a healthier life. We infuse all our offerings with the qualities of gentleness, compassion, and radical self-love, to create a safe container for the body, mind, and nervous system.
Tell us about yourself
We are a queer couple deepening our own spiritual practice, and we haven’t found much queerness in these spaces, so we want to be able to offer this to others. We want to share our own learnings and support people in reclaiming their power and joy, reconnecting to their true, authentic desires, and thriving in their lives by adding our queer experience.
We met in New York City. Each of us had been doing personal and spiritual work and celebrated our lives as individuals. This created a fertile ground for a true, deep, and meaningful connection between us. We encouraged each other to reclaim our own power and aliveness, and we want to show other queer people this can happen to them too. Hearing the words of appreciation and gratitude from our clients when they experienced deep restoration, integration of different facets of their being, and permission to embrace and unconditionally accept all their emotions fully.
Sara (she/her) is a certified yoga & meditation teacher and sound healing facilitator; she is also a software engineer. Valentina has 12+ years of experience in the corporate world, are certified empowerment and intimacy coach, and a breathwork practitioner.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Starting a business on word of mouth. In these times, where everything happens on social media, we decided we’ve had enough. We were tired of seeing algorithms reign our lives, and we didn’t want to keep doing what we knew was driving many people to burn out. We consciously stepped out of social media and decided to develop our business by word of mouth. The power of connection.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Not panicking when things are not exactly happening as you thought they would. Being able to take a deep breath and keep moving forward.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don’t give up on your dreams.
- Fail fast, fail often, and keep trying.
- Know your values and stay true to them.
