What's your business, and who are your customers?
As the founder of REWIRE, I have developed numerous programs to help average to high net-worth individuals living paycheck to paycheck and people that are emotionally challenged around money experience true peace, joy, and confidence in both their personal and financial lives.
Tell us about yourself
I am an Accredited Financial Counselor, Financial Therapist, Certified Money Coach, Trauma of Money Facilitator, and a Certified Financial Planner Candidate.
I have been a coach, therapist, and facilitator on Personal Development and human potential since 1996. My focus on Money started in 2009. With over two decades of hands-on experience in business and personal growth, I am passionate about creating innovative ways to teach both Financial and Emotional Literacy.
My approach to money is unique and transformational. Gifted with a powerful intuition and a social justice lens, I use the money to positively impact the world.
My multi-faceted career as a massage therapist, voice actor, motivational speaker, and published author has afforded me a unique perspective. I realized that so many people have a dysfunctional relationship with money, and I wanted to change that.
Seeing my clients create an impact in their lives and the world with their finances makes me want to do this work for the rest of my life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has been growing my business to a place that is both profitable and impactful without compromising my values has been so rewarding.
The learning along the way has stretched me to become a leader in this industry. I feel like a bit of a pioneer at times. Very few people are marrying the esoteric or emotional aspects of money with sound financial practices. It's always exciting for me.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is also the best thing. It is being stretched to become a better leader. Learning about my weaknesses and asking for help.
Understand that the growth of this business and this purpose will take so many of us, and we have to collaborate and support each other along the way. Remember that it isn't competition that creates impact. It is collaboration.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Always remember that people actually do want to see you win. Surround yourself with those people. Ask for help but makes sure they are the ones with the expertise to help you. Hiring people you like may not always be the best criteria.
Hire people with similar values and with people that understand their own genius. One person can not do everything. They can, to some things well, and that is what you hire them for.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
The most successful businesses didn't happen overnight. Overnight success is rare. Usually, a successful business knows how to pivot. When you are in alignment with your purpose and your passion, the pivots will always open into more. Stay true to your core and be willing to say no to the things that don't align.
