What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are Revved Up™, and we specialize in small-batch hot sauces for foodies who enjoy flavor before heat. When you taste our hot sauces, I want you to feel like there was nothing else in this world that could make your dish better than what's inside these bottles. I love hot sauce and am owning my dream business so that you can enjoy what hot sauce is truly about, too! We have a sauce for any course.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Rebecca, and I love hot sauce. I mean, like I really really love it. It's my favorite food group. When my friends and family started giving me bottles of hot sauce every occasion, I started to realize the problem with most hot sauces is that they are too spicy to taste anything but heat. And I am a foodie; I love flavors and my food. So one day, when I was at a hot sauce convention with all of these other people who loved hot sauces as much as me, I was inspired to figure out my favorite peppers and flavors! When the pandemic gave me new opportunities, I decided to start my hot sauce business, Revved Up, and I've been living my dream ever since!
I became an accidental hot sauce connoisseur when I started using hot sauce on everything and wanted to share my passion. My goal is to make food taste better, so I curated a line of hot sauces that will bring out the flavor in your food while still giving it some heat. It's not just an amazing product but also an incredible experience you can have every day of your life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner, it's been my honor and privilege to see the community grow around this product. People who never thought they would be interested in hot sauce are now addicted fans of Revved Up sauces! I love seeing all these new and faces pop up every time I go somewhere - and familiar faces coming back again because we have yet another flavor worth trying. I am proud of the Revved Up hot sauce community and how we can continue to bring new flavors to your homes and parties, and holidays!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Wearing all the hats is one of those things that you do because it's worth every second.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My top three tips for growing a business are:
- Find your passion within it.
- Know the numbers so you can tell if this will just be a hobby or not.
- Even with ups and downs, there's no shame in celebrating all the big and small wins!
