What's your business, and who are your customers?
Renew Holistic Wellness is an integrative wellness center working with men and women to transform their minds, body, and spirit and feel their best. We teach people about how their body works, help try to uncover why they might not be feeling their best, and guide them on their healing journey.
We offer expertise and service to help our clients on their travels and improve their health and wellness. Our primary services are detox services, including Colon Hydrotherapy, Ionic Foot Detox, and Ear Candling. These services can help clients with their detoxification pathways so that the body can be less toxic and perform its best.
We also specialize in Thermography, which can assess the risk for breast cancer and visualize inflammation in the body, giving our clients information on their breast cancer risk, source of pain, understanding of circulation in the body, and more. We also offer Raindrop Therapy, which is profoundly relaxing and can help detox and boost the immune system.
We also work with clients as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and offer inflammatory food testing and support on the nutrition journey focusing on an anti-inflammatory diet. Last, we work to help clear the mind and spirit with Reiki and energy healing services.
Tell us about yourself
I started my business based on healing when my health was in a crisis shortly after turning 40. Nearly all of the services I offer helped me on my healing journey, so it motivates me daily to help others. When I started my business, I told my husband, "I don't want others to suffer as I did." I feel younger and better than I have in years on my healing journey.
I retired from a successful corporate career to start my business and work with a client as a practitioner to help teach them about their body and help them along on their health and wellness journey.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is building a successful business after leaving my corporate career. I have a growth mindset regarding business expansion, service expansion, and expanded reach with my clients. I am always seeking the best approach and best services to reach more and more people on a wellness journey.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
While it's exciting, every day is something new. I joke, but business ownership isn't for the faint of heart. There are ebbs and flows in business. There are a lot of things to figure out along the way. I believe the universe rewards the brave, so staying brave and keeping my eyes on growth and the next steps is always a priority.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start slow. When I started, I had big dreams of where I could (and felt I "should") be. It takes time and patience, and diligence to build a business.
- Know your worth and what you offer, and build a network. The clearer your skills and limitations are, the more you can honestly and truly help others. Building a network is in this statement because it's important to have fellow businesses to refer to for services and help that specialize where you do not.
- Ask for help. Ask for help when you need it. Friends and family are often willing to help; if they aren't, find those who will. Your tribe will be on your side and cheer for your growth. That said, your tenacity and growth mindset will attract the right people who can offer help.
