What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm an emotional eating coach. Oftentimes women come to me looking for a way off of the Diet Yo-Yo, and they think the next diet, exercise routine, pill, potion, or powder will solve the problem. It seldom does. The issue isn't the diet -- the issue is emotional eating that sabotages their consistency.
Tell us about yourself
I spent 40 years on the Diet Yo-Yo, and overcoming emotional eating was key to both reaching my goal and staying there for nine years and counting. Now I help others by helping them find what works for their bodies, unpacking their emotional baggage, and reconnecting with their best selves. Helping others heal their hearts is so fulfilling and motivating.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Securing a TEDx Talk that has over 550,000 views -- which has given me the opportunity to help people around the world.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The business tasks. I'm intrigued by the human heart and mind and am really good at helping them heal. Business tasks? They are the (insert your least favorite vegetable here) that you HAVE to eat in order to get to the dessert or get to leave the table.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do your market research.
- Manage your mindset early and often.
- Make room for time off -- working longer and harder isn't as fruitful as one might think.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
