What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the owner of a content marketing agency made up entirely of registered dietitian content creators. We leverage our nutrition expertise to help health and wellness brands create incredible content strategies and marketing plans.
Tell us about yourself
I started with just a side gig as a solo freelance writer. I was working as a clinical dietitian at the time and just wanted to make some extra income working from home. The demand for my services started to grow so much that I realized I could possibly build a team of writers and take on more work. Over the last five years, I have grown the team to 10 content creators and have moved beyond just writing into a marketing strategy. My team motivates me to keep going. It is so awesome to be able to help other RDs have a more fulfilling career and make more money doing it!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am so proud of the team I have grown and the ability to support other women in their careers.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As the business continues to grow, I still feel like I need to do all the things. Letting go and allowing others to take on more responsibility has been really challenging.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- If you have a dream, never give up.
- Always be learning and exploring new areas of opportunity.
- Create systems as soon as possible, don't be afraid to outsource!
