Tell us about yourself

It has been through my own recovery story and journey that I learned the importance of the therapeutic relationship. Having the ability to hold a safe space for others to share the most intimate parts of themselves and become vulnerable about the things that are causing emotional disruption in their life is a gift and a privilege. It would be my honor to help you reimagine a life beyond your wildest dreams.

My love for the profession, my passion for addiction and trauma, mental health disorders, and the brain science of these disorders motivates me to show up every day. I also enjoy the challenges that come with my profession and the opportunity to learn and grow professionally. I am committed to providing the best care possible to my patients, and I continue to be motivated by the satisfaction I get from watching people learn, grow, change, and then go out and live their best, most authentic life.

Being a clinician can be challenging, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. As a clinician, I am motivated by the positive outcomes I see in my patients. Seeing a patient overcome their addiction, trauma, or mental health disorder and achieve their goals is the singular most powerful motivator that keeps me going each day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a strong client base: One of the biggest accomplishments for a counseling practice owner is to establish a strong client base. Having a steady flow of clients who are satisfied with the services provided -  resulting in positive word-of-mouth referrals.

Providing high-quality services: Another major accomplishment for Reimagine Freedom is providing high-quality counseling services to patients. This means maintaining a high standard of care, staying up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in the field, and ensuring that clients receive personalized, effective treatment.

Making a positive impact on clients: Ultimately, the most meaningful accomplishment for Reimagine Freedom is the positive impact on our clients' lives. Helping those we serve overcome challenges by offering a holistic approach and being a part of seeing those changes impact their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being while achieving their personal goals.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Balancing work and life: Running a business can be all-consuming at times. There are times when it can be a struggle to balance the demands of work, research, continued learning, and the continued education required in my field with my personal life. It can be challenging to maintain a healthy work-life balance, particularly in the early stages of a business. Having regular self-care practices is non-negotiable. I was taught early on in my journey that every good counselor has a counselor.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Identify a unique value proposition: A successful business needs to offer a service that is unique and valuable to the population it serves. Take time to research and identify what sets your business apart, ensuring that your service solves a real problem and/or meets a need in the community.
  2. Build a strong network: Attend industry events, join business associations, and connect with others in your field. A strong network is a must in my profession.
  3. Don't be afraid to reach out and ask for help when you need it.
