What's your business, and who are your customers?
Reflective Healing is a psychedelic therapy group practice focusing on mental health care using psychedelics as a tool for mental health symptom management, psycho-spiritual exploration, and deep transpersonal healing. Our clients are folks who are experiencing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and relationship issues. We also specialize in supporting those experiencing a sense of stuck-ness, loss of interest in life, or those searching for meaning-making and life purpose.
Tell us about yourself
I got into this work as a counselor and psychonaut. I had been providing counseling services in my professional life for about eight years and using psychedelics for my own psycho-spiritual explorations for about eighteen years when I was invited to get involved in the psychedelic mental health community. I am motivated by the expedited changes I see in some people who engage in this work and my own growth in the space.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishments are always when my clients, or the clients of my colleagues, create lasting change that makes them happier and more connected to themselves.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing for me is balancing the need to run a business from a fiscal perspective while also trying to put the needs of clients and my contractors first. For-profit mental health care is not easy to balance with altruism, and capitalism is not the ideal system for health care.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Be sure you find the right people to work with, and be discerning about who you allow into your business. And love what you do and believe in it.
