Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Megan Suzanne Cicerelli, Owner of Redhead Media Co., located in Bayport, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Redhead Media Co, where I teach female entrepreneurs who want to do 7 figures in their business how to 10x their visibility and potency through video without living online.

Tell us about yourself

I have been video editing since I was twelve. I would always make music videos and funny movies with my friends. I became an Operating Room nurse and just left my 12-year nursing career in December of 2022 when my business took off. Video has always been a part of my life, and I hope to show my three small children that I followed my dreams even when it was difficult.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is how I took my passion and turned it into a business to help other women. My business is focused on doing things efficiently in terms of video, and that aligns with why I wanted to have a business in the first place. I wanted a life of freedom for both my everyday life and financially. I was never one to want to be tied down to a job or someone else's rules. I love that I built this business, and I now have the freedom in my life I used to dream about.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Being a self-starter was always easy for me. The thing that I found difficult was consistency, even when things were not working. The hard days come, but they also go. It is fantastic to be your own boss, but you also are the problem solver in all areas of your business. It takes discipline and hard work, but you also have to learn to trust your intuition which comes with time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Determine who you want to help and what problem you solve for them.
  2. Keep your focus on one area and go all in on that topic. Do not try to make your business for everyone. This was a big mistake I made.
  3. Get in the room with women who have walked before you. Surround yourself with women that have built what you desire. Learn from them and take in their energy each and every day. The inner work is most important, and that is when your business grows.
