Tell us about yourself

I am a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about integrating nutrition with fitness and lifestyle to assist individuals in achieving optimal health. My passion roots from a family history of diabetes and heart disease, which has driven me to become a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and obtain my Certificate in Obesity and Weight Management. With my own struggles with weight due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), I am very compassionate and understanding of my client's needs and struggles. I have worked with clients with various health concerns, including diabetes, heart disease, obesity, Liver and Kidney diseases, emotional eating, eating disorders, dysphagia and tube feeding, a nutritional decline in underweight individuals, and much more. Take a glimpse at the services Red Mountain Nutrition offers. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a business owner, I love having the flexibility of working with different individuals and businesses. I truly enjoy partnering up with other professionals to combine our expertise to bring a combination of services to our clients under one roof. I love being able to offer my services in many unique ways to ensure all individuals have access to nutrition and health education.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Having patience and understanding when business is slower but also having gratitude and appreciation when business is excelling. All companies have their busy and slow times, but moving through those waves as a business owner with grace, compassion, and understanding will always motivate me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make a business plan, and don't spread yourself to thin on what you want to offer in the beginning.
  2. Don't go into debt. Take it slow. Keep low overhead as you're starting out so you can utilize your profits to advance your options and have the funds to pay out of pocket for all the little purchases, systems, and programs you will likely need along the way.
  3. Narrowing on a specific clientele you feel would truly benefit from what you offer. Be trustworthy, honest, and fair in your rates, and the clients will come.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

For Clients: I can work in the state of Arizona and the state of New Mexico and am available for telehealth via HIPPA-compliant Zoom. In the surrounding areas of Mesa, Arizona, with advanced notice, I can also see clients in the comfort of their homes if they have mobility or transportation concerns. I will also be accepting multiple insurance plans by August 2022.

For Colleagues: Those in the health field that have thought about collaborating with a dietitian to expand options to clients, I am open to discussing ideas and opportunities.
