What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is called Red Hot Mindset, and I help women turn their passion and purpose into impact and income, all for the glory of God. I do this by helping them start an online business or ministry through intentional purpose planning.
Tell us about yourself
I started with a book idea, wanting to be an author. I'm an avid runner, and I had a burly goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. In order to do this, I would have to shave almost an hour off my best marathon time, and so I knew I needed to get mentally and physically stronger to do so. Using success principles and mental toughness training, I hit that goal and ran the Boston Marathon in 2016 and 2021. A dream sparked in me to help others realize their own God-given dreams and to create a plan to make them happen.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Coaching others to build successful, growing businesses has been my biggest accomplishment. I am fired up after a 1:1 coaching session, knowing I'm helping someone else build a legacy business of their own.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Working for myself. Though I love the flexibility and freedom it provides, sometimes it can take over my life without me realizing it (because I love what I do!). But I do what I do to have the time and freedom with my family and to build a legacy that makes an impact.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't wait until the time's right or until you get it perfect... neither of those things will ever happen. The best time to start is now, imperfectly!
- Set boundaries right out of the gate and stick to them.
- Don't do it alone. Find an accountability partner, a mastermind group, a coach, or someone who will be in your corner to encourage and support you as you grow your business. Community matters!
