Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in content creation but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Raechel Manzler, Founder of RED Content Studio, located in Boston, MA USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

RED Content Studio is a content creation agency that helps businesses with social media's hands-on, creative aspect! With social media changing daily, it can be extremely difficult to keep up with all of the trends and create QUALITY content at the same time. We work with both big & small brands and customize our services to be sure that what you're putting out still looks and feels like you want it to.

Tell us about yourself

When I was little, I used to say I wanted to be an "artist" when I grew up. As I got older, I felt more and more external and internal pressure to pursue a more corporate career. Fast forward to now, where I have found a way to utilize my creativity in a way that benefits both my business and clients. The people I work with are who inspire me to do the work that I do... Seeing my clients excited & happy with the work that I did is one of the absolute best feelings.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It may sound small, but I think the first time I felt truly "accomplished" as a business owner was being able to pay all of my bills as my own boss while genuinely enjoying the work I do on a day-to-day basis. Like many (if not most) business owners, I always strive to do bigger and better things, so sometimes, it is important to remind myself of what success means to ME.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, the most difficult part of owning a business is self-doubt, especially working in social media. It is hard not to compare yourself to others when you are constantly seeing the highlight reels online. I try my best to focus on myself and keep doing what I do!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just because something isn't happening right now does not mean it never will. Sometimes timing is everything!
  2. Know your worth. Pricing can be one of the biggest challenges for business owners, especially as you start. Don't be afraid to charge your clients, friends, and family - you deserve it! Lowering your prices or giving away free services will burn you out and affect the industry standard. You may not be too expensive, just out of their budget.
  3. Don't be ashamed of a side hustle! Sometimes you need to make ends meet while you grow your business.
