Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rebecca Bromberg, Founder of Rebecca Bee Coaching, located in Atlanta, GA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business, Rebecca Bee Coaching, creates women leaders who change the world by bringing greater mental health and well-being. Through our transformational program Flight School, we provide education, coaching, and community-based support for therapists, health and wellness coaches, and mental health coaches that help them gain clarity on their business, build an effective, transformational curriculum, and heal any unconscious limiting beliefs or nervous system dysregulation that may be in the way of them taking action to build their sustainable business.
Tell us about yourself
I am a purpose-driven entrepreneur, business coach, and body-mind healing coach. Formerly a nonprofit financial consultant, today I help talented professionals heal their nervous systems, repattern their belief systems and build their own purpose-driven lives and businesses so they can make the impact they're born to make. I believe we're capable of more transformation and capacity than we realize and that our unconscious conditioning (which drives 90% of our thinking) is the primary obstacle to us achieving the success and impact we were designed to create. I got into this work when I had the realization in 2016 that my life and career had been mostly lived for other people, and I saw all the things I needed to heal to create a purposeful life for myself. As I followed my curiosity and gathered many healing tools to retrain my nervous system for more ease and rewire my unconscious limiting beliefs, I realized that I was not gathering these tools just for me.
I trained for 3 years in body-based (aka somatic) healing alongside therapists (though I am not one myself), and I took to the work like a duck to water. I quit my six-figure job in nonprofit finance to pursue a more aligned path as a healing coach and created a transformational healing curriculum in my program, Finishing School. It took me a few years to realize that I didn't have to throw my MBA or my 13 years of experience out the window. I began coaching entrepreneurs (primarily women) at that intersection of healing and business that has become my unique signature.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am the founder of Finishing School and a new program, Flight School, which together are the most soul-aligned program I could have ever dreamed of creating. I help others have the same nourishing experience of building a meaningful life and business through this transformational group program. In Finishing School, we learn 3 core life skills of emotional regulation, reparenting, and belief rewiring that help participants put old survival mode patterns to bed so thriving on purpose becomes our default mode. I then help participants set the foundation for creating an aligned life and business in my new program, Flight School, a purpose-driven business incubator.
Flight School offers the missing key ingredients most business coaches leave out: mindset and embodiment. We use a process of working backward from the end results my clients want for themselves and their own clients to create my signature One Page Embodied Business Plan that provides an anchor for their vision, curriculum pillars, and personal practices so they can embody the transformation that is at the core of their work.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
For me, the hardest thing is knowing all things that could be done if I had unlimited time and energy. Finding balance is essential, and I am learning to delegate to the right, trusted people so I can accomplish more. We can go further together, but that is a letting go process.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
I'd say the most important tip is to know yourself really well before you build a business so you don't have to rebuild after starting with a shaky foundation (ask me how I know!). Know your relationship to success so you don't sabotage yourself with procrastination, perfectionism, starting and not finishing things, or overcommitting (we never do any of this on purpose). And get to know (and heal) your unconscious limiting beliefs that may block your success - this is the most valuable work I've done for myself, and I see the impact of this in clients daily.
