Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Julie Coraccio, Founder of Reawaken Your Brilliance, LLC., located in Wheeling, VA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The name of my business is Reawaken Your Brilliance. I support people in decluttering in all areas of their lives, getting organized, and becoming more mindful & aware, to create the life they desire. I am also an author, podcast host of Clear Your Clutter Inside & Out, and a certified life coach and professional speaker. My clients are people who are stuck in life and know something needs to change and need support in accessing their inner wisdom and a plan to make their dreams a reality.

Tell us about yourself

For years, I worked as a professional organizer and taught people how to clear clutter, whether it was for hire, barter, or rescuing family and friends from their clutter nightmares. What started the professional organization and clutter-free living ball rolling? Many years ago, I was a nanny and juggled two children and their busy schedules, as well as running a household. From my experiences as a nanny, my need to organize grew. Soon, family and friends were asking for my help.

I've always had an interest in personal growth work and saw how it benefited people when I brought that into my coaching and organizing work. Clients wanted to dig a little deeper and ask for more personal work.

I'm motivated each day by my amazing clients, who are brave and willing to clear their clutter and share their gifts with the world. It's an honor to witness them shine.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm a national and regional award winner:

  1. Los Angeles Award: The Green Award for Most Eco-Friendly Organizing Service
  2. Triangle Business Journal's Green Entrepreneurial Effort/Innovative Idea of the Year Honorable Mention: Healing through Organization.
  3. I'm in the Top 10 podcasts downloaded in the Leisure category and was featured in PodcastMagazine.com
  4. I've self-published 15 books.
  5. I was the first professional organizer in both home and business to specialize in being green in the State of North Carolina.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being okay that sometimes people aren't ready or willing to change. And realizing you can't do it all, and it's good practice to hire others who are experts in their field to support you.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find your specialty or niche and expand out from there.
  2. Make money while you sleep: write a book, create a course, offer on-demand classes, etc.
  3. You can't be everything to everyone. Understand your strengths and build your network so you can give, and receive, referrals.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I offer a free self-assessment to find your clutter priority, along with a step you can take immediately when you sign up for my newsletter. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit to work together.
