What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the Founder and CEO of Realm Concept Market. Realm is a black-woman-owned business located in Brooklyn, New York, that designs sustainable skin and hair products that pair Nature and Science to deliver results for our customers. After being diagnosed with Thyroid Disease and PCOS, I decided to take control of her wellness. Realm's wellness products are designed to ensure that the ingredients and formulas we use to make our products are carefully selected to minimize any adverse reactions on people's sensitive or delicate skin/scalp.
Tell us about yourself
I got started once I was tired of having dry skin. After being diagnosed with PCOS, I made the decision that I was no longer going to put my self-care and wellness on the backburner. I made it my mission to develop a natural wellness line of products that can help people like me who were facing hormonal challenges. What motivates me is reaching people who are looking for a natural solution to a complicated situation and making it better.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Wearing too many hats.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get organized. A notebook, an online file, or a CRM system will go a long way.
- Talk to a professional about taxation in the early stages.
- Schedule a few minutes to yourself daily where you are NOT thinking and talking about your businesses.
