Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Simone Racaku, Founder of Racaku Consulting, located in London, UK.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a multilingual business and personal consulting firm based in London.

As a worldwide organization, our customers vary from young professionals to big corporations, with one mission in common... Empowering the world one language at a time!

Tell us about yourself

This is an excellent question. I always tell the story to my clients and friends... when I was 13, I said to myself, "One day, I will be an entrepreneur." Fast forward to today, and I am one.

Born in Italy to an Albanian family, I moved to London (UK) 6 years ago to initiate the process of building my personality and image as the Simone I wanted to be. What gave me the start is the fact that I am an immigrant and want more out of my life and those around me. I want people to like me and to feel special.

What motivates me is what the "business" industry gives for granted, and that you must speak English to succeed as an entrepreneur. This needs to be more accurate... Only 17% of the population speaks English. As multilingual, speaking five languages, I can communicate with almost 2.5 billion people worldwide, which gives me an edge over my competitors. I want this also for those who speak this many languages as me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

A business exists to solve problems, so the more people we can help, the more we can impact the world. Having clients who trust us and want to continue the relationship is a significant accomplishment, isn't it so?

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Clarity, most business owners nowadays start a business to make money without even knowing who they are as individuals or their potential customers.

If you are reading these lines and considering starting a business, build a clear image of the person you want to become. As your business grows, you, the leader of your organization, are also required to develop. Each stage will need a better and more strong YOU!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

We may need to give different tips at each stage because their awareness needs to be matched.

  1. Starting with the first group (start)
  • Understand yourself and clearly define who you want to become.
  • Nurture, keep reinforcing what you want.
  • Do whatever it takes to achieve it.

2. Second group (run)

  • Be emotionally detached from each situation happening in the organization.
  • Listen to your employees. People run businesses, and often this concept is screwed up.
  • Stay healthy! You are the reflection of your business. What you put in, you will get out in terms of food, drinks, and workout. A clear mind and body are essential!

3. Third group (grow)

  • Get known. People who don't know you will not do business with you.
  • Money is a servant. Use it to promote your product and business, or even better, your social image. Remember, you are the face of your company.
  • Hire people who have a dream and fit in with yours. An organization without a purpose or direction is most likely to fall apart.
