Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Daniel Chabert, CEO and Founder of PurpleFire, located in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

PurpleFire is a CRO, Web & Software Development Agency that also does e-commerce, mobile, NFTs, and Blockchain development. Our clients are mostly e-commerce owners, entrepreneurs, B2B companies, etc., found all over the world.

Tell us about yourself

I am a CRO (conversion rate optimization), SaaS, and marketing nerd who enjoys scaling brands. I have 12+ years of experience and have sold four 7-figure businesses in the e-commerce space. I worked with tons of agencies back when I had my own e-commerce brands and was always negatively surprised at the service and work done, PurpleFire is everything we wish we had access to back then - pro-active, quality work, and we treat clients like they are our partners. What motivates me every day is seeing happy clients and making sure our team members enjoy what they do so everyone can grow together.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have started over five companies, and I think it has been the ability to keep going forward even after a bad period and just understand that bad periods of time are like driving through a dark tunnel. Eventually, you will get to the other side if you just keep going. This has been my biggest accomplishment, being able to pick myself up after a setback and keep pushing forward.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is dealing with the inevitable failures and disappointments. It can be hard to stay motivated when you feel as if you're constantly challenged. I had to sell a business due to profit and cash flow issues, and navigating a sale under stress can be very hard. Bouncing back and moving forward is something I'm very proud of.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start simple, and don't overcomplicate things: A lot of entrepreneurs get excited and end up overcomplicating things. It's important to keep the core simple, focus on the essentials and build from there.
  2. Enjoy the ride because you will never reach your "end goal": Enjoy the ride, learn as much as you can, and understand that there is always something more to accomplish. It never ends, and there will always be something to do, so don't get caught up in the idea of a final destination.
  3. Know your numbers and look at your financials daily: Make sure you know your numbers, review your financials daily and prioritize profit. This will help you have a better understanding of where your business is at and where it needs to go. It's also a great way to stay on top of any potential issues before they become too large.
