Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Adam Fata, Founder of Psychozoic Era, located in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We all need to continue developing who we are and understand that the mind plays a huge part in any success that we intend to have in life or business. The Psychozoic Era is a new era of personal growth realized by expanding your mental boundaries. We are here to help you reach your goals and, most importantly, be happy in life.

Tell us about yourself

I was tied up in a business that made me miserable. I was bringing all the negativity home, and it was affecting who I was as well as my family life. I had to sell this business and move on. I thought the next best thing for me was to jump into another partnership, but that also failed quickly. I then decided to take the time to work on myself and my personal development. The most important part of my last business was inspiring people to make changes in their lives. But unfortunately, the business model was changed down the road, and the ability to do so was taken away. I was no longer happy heading to work every day. Inspiring people to make changes gives me excitement, and that's how the Psychozoic Era came to life.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I realized I am not good at everything, and that is okay. At first, I believed I had to do it all and had to be strong and great at everything. This only stressed me out and sucked the life out of me each and every day. When I changed a few things, like, for example, the way I was hiring my team and started hiring people that were great at what I wasn't, I was then able to focus on what I was great at and drive the business to its greatest potential.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Keeping a positive mindset in all the ups and downs in business. We all face challenges on a daily basis. The way I was handling these challenges prior to my mind shift was affecting who I was physically and mentally. My Perception changed. The way I now view these challenges has given me a more positive outlook on these transitions.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. When you start a business, you pour your life into it and forget what is most important: taking care of yourself. Take time for your personal growth. We should never stop learning and growing. 95% of your business is your mindset. Keep it positive.
  2. Most of the people around you today, the ones you think are going to support you, are probably not going to. What I have experienced is that when there is a lot of negativity around a new journey, that's the journey you should be on. There is always something on that path that will help you grow.
  3. Keep your vision; remember, you are the only one that can see it. If you can see it, you can achieve it.
