What's your business, and who are your customers?
I specialize in helping non-residential Engineering & Construction business leaders solve their toughest Project Management Talent & Process challenges through Talent Optimization. The discipline of Talent Optimization helps companies build high-performance teams, so they can deliver successful construction projects that change the world! Talent Optimization is unique in that it puts people at the forefront of business strategy and results.
Tell us about yourself
I started my career as a Mechanical Engineer but quickly gravitated toward the collaborative appeal of Project Management. I moved into the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) sector, delivering multi-million-dollar industrial projects for over a decade before starting proCollab Consulting in 2018. My why is simple: delivering construction projects isn't easy, and Business Leaders deserve support to help their teams succeed.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Through my project leadership talent & team resources, and passion for coaching & training, I'm most proud of inspiring the next generation of Project Leaders.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
There are many skills you need to develop to be successful in the transition from industry to consulting. The most difficult ones for me were learning all the tech & automation and copywriting and allowing myself the time to improve.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Whether you're just starting out, launching your next product or service, or scaling your business, it's critical to get crystal clear on who you serve, what problem you solve, and how your customer will measure success.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
A big part of my entrepreneurial journey was realizing that I didn't have to go after it alone. Investing in business coaches that specialize in the areas I need help with has been invaluable in accelerating my success.
