Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Patrick Sévigny, President of Pro-Sec, located in Saint-Hubert, QC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is dry cleaning services for carpets, furniture, and rugs, the solution for your cleaning needs.

Tell us about yourself

At first, I had to do an internship for my studies, and I found the owner of this company. I started working with Mr. Brunet, and I never left the company. I find my motivation in satisfying every client by doing the best we can do on their carpets and furniture.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I don’t pretend to be the biggest company in dry cleaning, but I can assure you that we treat every client with the most respect, and we take as much time as necessary to respond to their questions.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

To stay competitive on our prices. We know that the clients are looking for fewer possible costs.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take the time to look around to find out who will be your competitors.
  2. Find one service you can offer that doesn’t exist or that isn't done enough.
  3. Finally, always maintain a high standard of quality.
