What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Pretty Soul Kitchen, and I offer catering and personal chef experience with upscale soul food. Our clients choose PSK because not only does the food look amazing, but it also tastes delicious with the customer service to match.
Tell us about yourself
I began cooking at age 15 in my grandmother's daycare center. I continued to develop my skills, moving from VA to CA and now in Vegas. I decided to bring my skills and delicious Southern Style food to Vegas. What motivates me to go hard every day is my family/children and continuously accomplishing goals.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment in my business is growing my clientele from 0-now serving over 100 locals and visitors, everything from meal prep to personal chef experience and catering, and being featured in Las Vegas Entrepreneur Magazine in my 1st year of business.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The one challenge I've had as a business owner is figuring it out on your own. Most times, it's who you know, not what you know, that gets you ahead and moving to Vegas not knowing anyone, I had to do a lot of networking to even get my food out there, however, because I am such a social butterfly I was determined to be known.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Find your niche. Network. Build relationships. ALWAYS stay focused on the end goal no matter how hard it may seem or get that it's all part of the process, and the process is never easy. Know what you want and continuously go for it.
