Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Bianca King, Founder of Pretty Damn Ambitious™, located in Frisco, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Pretty Damn Ambitious™ is an exclusive private community helping women achieve the professional and personal success they desire by providing personalized matching services with vetted and verified coaches. Our company exists to help women fulfill their dreams and accelerate their success.

First, we do this by matching our members with vetted and verified women coaches that will work with them to amplify their ambitions and accelerate their path to personal growth and professional success.

Next, we provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive community full of resources to support our members along their journey to the success they desire on their terms.

Tell us about yourself

My entrepreneurial journey started almost 15 years ago when I founded my marketing agency after leaving my corporate real estate career of 13+ years. My motivation for creating Pretty Damn Ambitious™ came from speaking with friends, family, and fellow entrepreneurs who regularly engaged in self-development. We didn't have a reliable way to find vetted courses or coaches beyond our referral networks.

Coupled with the fact that coaching in the United States is unregulated, I didn't want my circle to waste time and resources on coaching that would not produce our desired results. And just like that, I came up with the idea for Pretty Damn Ambitious™. I saw a need in the market to match high-achieving women with the right personal development resources that could help them ascend to even greater levels.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

This business's best accomplishment is receiving testimonials from our members on how we are changing their lives for the better. We started this company by helping women to fully and unapologetically live their best lives. Witnessing that daily is inspiring. As our members feel more empowered, it benefits everyone around them, and the ripple effect is simply magnificent.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing was just getting started. I had this idea for almost a year before launching. Next was finding the right tools and partners to help me create my vision. It took a bit of trial and error, but we finally got there in the end.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Three Ps - Persistence, Preparedness, and Patience.

  1. You need the persistence to show up daily for your business and customers - especially when there's little or no revenue. Your why for starting your company must be strong to persist during the peaks and valleys of business ownership.
  2. You need preparedness for every challenge and opportunity because they will come.
  3. And, of course, you need the patience to nurture and grow your business. But more importantly, patience for yourself because you will not have all the answers in the beginning and will make mistakes.
