Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kerry Ramsay, founder of PowerHER Platform, located in Bay of Quinte, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

PowerHER Platform is designed to help women create impact with storytelling. I work one-on-one and in small groups with female leaders, speakers, and entrepreneurs to help them untangle the threads of their personal stories and weave them into every aspect of their brand. Together, we create a purpose-driven platform that connects each client with their ideal audience.

Tell us about yourself

I've been collecting stories ever since I was a kid in pigtails. As an only child, stories were a way to keep myself entertained. Reading stories eventually led to creating stories of my own.

As I grew older, I began telling (and eventually selling) stories for a living as a writer, editor, speaker, educator, business owner, and brand builder.
Now, more than 20 years after supporting my first client, I've helped hundreds of women grow their personal and professional brands by creating powerful story strategies that get results.

Besides speaking on stages across North America and hosting my own conferences, I've also spent more than 10,000 hours coaching women speakers, leaders, and entrepreneurs and booked hundreds of speakers for events in the public and private sectors.

Today, my past students and clients are successful media personalities, stage presenters, podcasters, YouTubers, bloggers, authors, business owners, brand managers, fundraisers, and more.

The bottom line is this: we all have a story to tell. And somewhere, someone is waiting to hear yours.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Taking my clients from uncertain to unstoppable is the most rewarding part of my work. I love to connect with female leaders, speakers, and entrepreneurs and help them discover the heart of their own message so they can share it with others. This is where the true impact lies!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Loneliness and isolation can be challenging for solopreneurs like myself. That's why I believe so strongly in community and collaboration.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The three keys to running a successful business include getting clear on who you serve, how you serve them, and why. Once you have the basics in place, you're not only more productive, but your message will have more impact.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

One of my favourite ways to connect with my audience is through my Power Your Platform Podcast, which is available on all major podcasting apps. Subscribe, listen, rate and review!
