Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Sandy Bhasin, owner of Powerflow Chiropractic, located in Mississauga, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our office offers Chiropractic care to optimize people's health so they can fully express their overall physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Our doors are open to young and old alike, but we tend to see lots of young professionals who want to perform at their very best at work and be their best at the gym or playing sports.

Tell us about yourself

I have a passion for helping people, and I have a passion for the natural healing arts. I believe the body is very powerful and can heal and thrive - it just needs a little assistance in the right direction.

That's why Chiropractic has been an amazing fit for me. I get to work with incredible people and see their health - and, more importantly, their life gets back on track. It's one of the best feelings in the world. And it keeps me motivated after all these years.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

To be awarded several awards from both Top Choice and Consumer Choice Awards truly meant a lot to me. When you really care about people and get recognized for it - it's truly a feeling of being honored and humbled at the same time. I am incredibly grateful for this.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Time management. Caring for patients, running the office, and balancing family time can be hard at times. But having a great and supportive team and family makes it possible.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find something you are passionate about. Running a business takes lots of time beyond your regular office hours - so make sure it's something you really love.
  2. Keep learning and keep improving. Getting better at what you do helps your clients - and keeps it fresh for you as well.
  3. Respect and care for others. I know this may sound old-fashioned - but it's true today and always will be.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

You are intelligent. You have passion. Go for it. Start that business. Start changing lives. I know there's no guarantee in life - but I believe if you put enough passion and hard work into helping others - the sky is the limit. And you'll feel great about what you do.
