Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dianne Michels, Founder of Possibility Partners, LLC., located in Deerfield, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Possibility Partners, LLC is a workplace consulting business focused on radically redesigning the Human Resources function to drive the creation of a reimagined workplace where the results, revenues, and profitability are not diminished, but the focus on HOW they are achieved is transformed.

Tell us about yourself

30+ years of work experience in diverse roles and industries, coupled with current chaotic conditions in the world, along with the pandemic and post-pandemic conditions, have resulted in significant changes in how we get work done, increasing the critical need for a major paradigm shift in our approach and relationship to work.

The ten workplace design principles outlined in my soon-to-be-published book provide the blueprint for operationalizing a workplace in which people can embrace a way of believing, being, and doing that ignites conversation, collaboration, creativity, and community to optimize everyone's participation, contribution, and self-expression.

"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." R. Buckminster Fuller

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Writing a book with ten pragmatic design principles to actualize the vision that conditions and leadership in workplaces could shift people's experience of work from a burden to survive to a possibility to thrive.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Marketing with clear, compelling, concise messages that connect with the clients for whom your services are a perfect fit!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Relate to the business as an adventure filled with uncertainty and unimagined possibilities.
  2. Trust in yourself, others, and the Universe so you aren't held hostage by an obsessive need to control outcomes and micro-manage.
  3. Maintain a growth mindset of curiosity vs. a fixed mindset of perfectionism at all times, realizing that human beings learn by trial and error, not by being right.
