What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a boutique florist and gift shop located in beautiful downtown Port Perry. We specialize in custom-designed floral arrangements in fresh and silk. We also have an impressive offering of unique gift ideas. Many of our offerings are Canadian-made products or local products. We also specialize in gourmet gift baskets featuring products available in Port Perry.
Tell us about yourself
I have worked as a designer in the floral industry for over nine years; before that, I was a Graphic Designer. My business partner has worked in the industry as well as in finance. Together we enjoy all aspects of the business, being women entrepreneurs and the creative process feeds both our strengths. Above all, we enjoy being part of a thriving community. We are honored to offer our floral services for life's special moments.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We have built and will continue to build relationships with our customers. We believe in exceptional customer service and pride ourselves on being a neighbourhood business. We also pride ourselves with being a good corporate citizens and supporting the community.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Finding downtime. We were many hats and are juggling many balls in the air at once. The hardest thing sometimes is to take a breather. That said, we love what we do!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Research the need, find a niche, and execute.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Above everything else, do something that brings you joy, surround yourself with amazing people, and everything else will fall into place.
