What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a podcast booking agency. We serve real estate investors.
Tell us about yourself
I had previously started a podcast back in 2015. After about 2 years of running that podcast - doing interviews, booking guests to interview, editing interviews, and writing show notes I decided to start freelancing my skills. Through freelancing, I was able to find clients who wanted to get booked on podcasts to promote their company. After about a year of doing this, I realized I had a viable business. What motivates me to do what I do is know that I get to serve the real estate investor community and help them share their incredible stories.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Growing the business from $0 to over six figures in revenue with a small team.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Managing a team as well as the system and processes to take yourself out of business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Record everything you do so you can eventually find someone to come in and take over. I recommend using the tool Tango. Pick a niche and become the leader in that space. Too many businesses try to work with too many customer avatars. Pick one and stay in your lane. Test different marketing strategies. We found that cold email marketing would be best for us when trying to grow the company.
