Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Laryn Weaver, CEO of Plumbgate, LLC., located in Spartanburg, SC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a thought leader supporting women as they build their businesses, marriages, and families. I do not subscribe to the idea that women must choose between being exceptional moms while also building successful businesses. I provide systems, support, and a signature approach to maximizing each woman's giftedness to make the greatest impact on the world.

Tell us about yourself

I have been coaching women since 2007 as I was a mother of four small children building a business from home. I have been married for 29 years with now four adult children, and I know what it takes to navigate all of the chaos women experience in life today. When women are empowered to own their own minds, trust their intuition, operate out of their gifts and strengths, and emboldened to believe they actually can go after their dreams, the world is a better, richer place, and everyone wins. I am fulfilled by being privileged to walk alongside these beautiful women and see them come alive in their true selves. "When you are who you were meant to be, you will set the world on fire" is a quote by St. Catherine of Siena that has inspired my life's work.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I reached a $25k monthly income while working from home with my four children. They were 12-10-8-6 when I reached this milestone, and I was able to impact thousands of women's lives while not missing a moment in the lives of my children.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing for me is keeping my mindset where it needs to be. I want to do the work and trust the outcomes of God. I want to hold space for my potential clients and not be anxious about my own insecurities and weaknesses. As women, we are our own worst enemies and can sabotage our success simply through lack of belief. When we're the ones in charge of building and doing the business, it can be easy to feel inadequate and overwhelmed.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get a coach. Don't feel that you need to learn everything on your own. The lessons we gain from working with someone who has done what we want to do are invaluable.
  2. Know your non-negotiables and refuse to compromise what is most important to you. If you don't, you will eventually come to resent your business and sabotage your future success.
  3. Be authentic. You are not someone else but uniquely you. The coach is critical for direction and support, but knowing that you need to operate as you is what builds trust with customers and clients. They need to buy you before they buy from you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

The world needs whatever it is that you are inspired to do, so do it. Don't question your mission or allow others to deter you from what you know to be true for your life's work.
