What's your business, and who are your customers?
Platinum Paradise is a Photography Studio with a twist! I offer eyelash extensions, hair extensions, professional hair styling, and makeup. In July 2023, I'll have my aesthetician license, so I'll be able to offer more services at that time.
Tell us about yourself
I started taking photos after my son was born with a cell phone camera that couldn't take a good image for anything. But I captured the moments that I never wanted to forget, and that's all that mattered. In 2016, I enrolled at Western Iowa Tech Community College for Photography. In 2018 I walked the stage with my Associate's Degree in Applied Science for Photography. My five children are my biggest motivators. They are who drive me every day to be a better mom, a better person, and a better real model.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I would have to say my biggest accomplishment would be opening my business. Seeing my actual business license in my hand was a feeling I couldn't explain! Just knowing I worked really hard, long hours studying, editing, promoting myself, and continuing my education. It all pays off when I see my client's faces when I show them the moments that I have captured for them.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being away from my children and husband for long hours and you are always working, whether I realize it or not.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stay positive even on hard days.
- Never stop educating yourself.
- Don't ever put limits on yourself, and don't let anybody else put limits on you, either!
