What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are the one-stop-shop for everything Plant-Based. If someone is looking for plant-based groceries, meal delivery, plant-based pet food, plant-based cosmetics, or just information on plant-based living, we are the company for them! If anyone is interested in what plant-based is all about, they are the ideal customer. We accept everyone and anyone. We want everyone to feel welcomed at PlantX.
Tell us about yourself
For 20 years, I have been in e-commerce. My last company went from 0 to 1.3Billion dollars in just two years. When leaving the company in March of 2019, I thought to myself, how can I use all of these years of experience and create something which can bring people value in the world. PlantX was born. I have lived a plant-based life for over 10+ years. The changes I have felt, not just physically but mentally, can not even be explained. I have thought to myself if I can just get one other person in the world to feel the changes I have gone through, it would all be worth it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Putting together a team that I believe loves what they do day in and day out. We are a lifestyle at PlantX, and this is what we want all of our team members to feel. Seeing the stores and unique experiences we have created has been a lot of fun as well.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
When you start a business, you see a lot happening right away. I feel when things plateau a little, you need to give 110% effort to get to the next level and remind yourself why you are doing all of this.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Listen to others; do not think you know it all.
- Nothing is easy in life. Hard work pays off.
- Believe in yourself, and remember it is okay if you need to pivot. What your business plan might have looked like on paper is sometimes not reality.
