Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Andres Ayesta, Founder and CEO of Planos Nutrition, located in Tampa, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a Nutrition and Lifestyle coaching company that helps highly motivated men and women who feel out of control with their health and are ready to transform their lifestyle and body. We help them by providing education, accountability, and a personalized nutrition blueprint so they become the best version of themselves in all aspects of life (Body, Mind, and Spirit).

Tell us about yourself

I am a registered dietitian and coach. I spent years coaching high-level athletes in some of the biggest sports leagues in the US and the world (NFL, NHL, MLB) and top performers in different industries in good nutrition and lifestyle habits to operate at the highest standard. After years of doing this, I created a program that combined all those principles I learned while working with hundreds of people so that they can accomplish great results in a sustainable way.

My passion is to help people achieve their highest potential, learn what their true 100% potential looks like, and apply these concepts to their lives. Since becoming a registered dietitian, my purpose has been solely to provide quality of life and be proactive in preventing diseases.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to build a company that has served over 600 people in the past few years is one of my biggest accomplishments. Getting to hear stories from our past clients about how we completely changed their lives and how they now make decisions that support their health and their goals are priceless to me!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Learning to push through challenges when things are hard. Being a business owner is a rollercoaster of emotions; it's a never-ending learning lesson filled with mistakes and obstacles, but that is also filled with opportunity and passion. We are the ones responsible for creating the changes we want to see in the world, and to do that carries a big burden that sometimes is difficult to carry.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't do it for the money: Money is a good motivator but doesn't bring fulfillment.
  2. Find your inner WHY: Take some time to explore and learn WHY you want it. Your WHY is the fuel that will fire up the engines of success in business, and knowing it will get you far.
  3. Fully embrace uncertainty: Nothing in life is guaranteed, particularly in business. Your business could fail but could also skyrocket in success. You need to fully accept that business owners are gamblers that take risks. Once you come to peace with that... growth and success are inevitable.
