What's your business, and who are your customers?
PKT Pal is helping businesses share guest wifi with their customers in a safe and secure way while helping them improve their marketing efforts and drive revenue.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Josh Berger, and I am an entrepreneur who jumped head-first into business when I was young and never looked back. I am passionate about solving problems and making the world a better place along the way. I see problems as opportunities, and I love using technology to solve them.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is taking the concept of connecting the world and bringing it to life through the products of PKT Pal and building a community of people who stand with this belief. The Mini by PKT Pal lets everyday people share their wifi and offer baseline internet for free, making wifi a public utility. They get to do this because people who require faster speeds pay the bill and drive revenue to businesses around the world.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest part of being a business owner is standing behind your beliefs when things don't go as planned. It takes mental toughness to weather the storm and power through adversity. It also takes 100 "no's" before you get that "yes" that changes everything. So the goal is to stay consistent and not take this personally.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't take a "no" personally. There are so many reasons for a person to reject you, and usually, it has nothing to do with you or your idea.
- Follow your gut. Your instincts are usually right. If an opportunity passes you for doing that, then it wasn't for you in the first place.
- Create a morning ritual when you work your mind, body, and soul. If you can control your mind and body, then it is easier to get outside of your comfort zone.
