Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kim Grady, Owner of Pilates on 10th, located in Seattle, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Pilates! We have an amazing community of clients, many of who live near the studio, making it a place where folks in the neighborhood connect and support each other in addition to working out. Our clients love to learn, push themselves to reach their goals, and have fun!

Tell us about yourself

Pilates is truly my passion, and running this business is a dream come true. Since I was a little girl, I've wanted to own my own business. Pilates on 10th is actually the second business I have owned, and I have learned so much from each experience, my team, and our community of clients.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is undoubtedly surviving a global pandemic... It took a lot of perseverance and creativity. I am so proud that I've been able to hold on and continue creating a supportive and fun environment where my team can find their potential and use it to serve our community.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Continuing to find talented people to teach one of the oldest exercise systems!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Show up, hire and invest in the best staff (and take good care of them!), and know your numbers. And generate more revenue from existing customers.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

There will inevitably be a time when nothing seems to work. My best advice during those times is to keep showing up, ask for help, and remember your "why"! Why you are doing what you do... it's most likely because you're really good at it.
