What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are Pieces of Luv, and we make Candles and Candle Accessories. Our customers would be anyone that enjoys burning a Toxic Free, Vegan Friendly, 100% Soy Based Candle. We have a large variety for every type of Candle Lover, from masculine scents to Fresh and Fruity all the way up to your favorite sports team or celebrity. We also offer Customizable Candles, where you choose the scent because you should be able to choose whatever your heart desires!
Tell us about yourself
We have always been innovators and crafters, but when the pandemic hit and life as we knew slowed to an almost halt, we were eager with ideas and ways to fill our time while also adjusting to what may be our new normal. We made the decision to take out crafting skills to the next level.
We hoped that creating these pieces of our heart to share with the world could help with some of the uncertainty and sadness we all were feeling. We would often think to ourselves, “How can we create light in such a dark time.” Candles were the first thing that came to mind, mainly because we are adamant about creating good vibes and having a soothing experience in our home.
We are motivated by the smiles our products bring to our customers, the stories of how much our customers loved ones can’t get enough of their unique candle, or how our candles and matching “Lit Matches” set were the highlight of their event!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest accomplishment would be our response whenever we run into a customer. It feels amazing to know that something we created can have such a huge impact on another individual. We want to continue to create smiles and lifelong moments from our Pieces of Luv.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
We would have to say that one of our biggest challenges is balancing our work/life responsibilities and obligations. Sometimes you want to focus on your craft, and at times your 9-5 or personal life may lack, but the idea is to find a balance and fall in love with the process in which we create, and that is an Every Day Thing.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You won’t make a sale every day, and that’s okay, don’t let it discourage you. Keep that head up and stay creative.
- Social Media is your best friend; there are many ways to get your products seen by people you would never cross paths with. It’s one place where you can reach 100’s of people a day. UNDERSTAND IT…USE IT…. MASTER IT!
- Be sure that it’s something you enjoy, something you can see yourself doing a million times over. That way, you don’t get tired of it.

We put Luv into everything, and we hope it shines through because we wouldn’t be able to spell Pieces of Luv without U.
