Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jahangir Karami, owner of Physique Therapy Clinic, located in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We have a rehabilitation clinic with different providers. Our services include massage therapy, acupuncture, kinesiology, personal training, and weight management. Our clients are mostly people dealing with injuries and are looking to improve their condition and quality of life.

Tell us about yourself

I have more than 25 years of experience in the field of physiotherapy in my home country. Currently, I have been working as a licensed Kinesiologist since 2011, as well as a registered acupuncturist in Canada. I used to work with different injuries and conditions due to spending years in the medical field. I have been working with a variety of clients, mainly orthopedic and neurological clients, in my home country and here in Canada.

I am well experienced in the prescription of therapeutic exercises to help people recover from all sorts of injuries, from car accidents and sports to chronic injuries and even day-to-day life aches and pains. I understand that recovery from injuries can be stressful and a burden. I want to assure you that our team is here at all stages until recovery.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My clients' satisfaction. Whether I was able to help them fully recover or not, they know that our team always does its best to help them and improve their quality of life.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Addressing different approaches to a topic because of different cultures and expectations.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

In the field of health services, because our product is wellness for people and is not always 100% guaranteed, the following are very important:

  1. Being honest with the client.
  2. Do your best to get the desired outcomes.
  3. Being up to date regarding your knowledge.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We believe that together, we can be a larger and stronger family. We do not look at our business as a financial institution. This is because we work with the people and their health, which greatly impacts our society and our country.
