I have multiple businesses - healing, coaching, activewear.
Tell us about yourself
After ten years in corporate marketing, I couldn't stand working for anyone else anymore, so I quit the 9-to-5 with not much of a plan about nine years ago. I traveled to 67+ countries whilst creating freedom-based businesses online and re-training across Yoga, Meditation, Breathwork, and Somatic Therapy. I also created London's premium activewear Brand Silou London, which found success by being sold in stores like Soul Cycle, Equinox, Selfridges, Goop, and more. I stepped down as CEO last year to focus solely on my coaching businesses.
Since then, I've followed what lights me up inside and continued to evolve and grow, letting things go when they no longer light me up. Right now, I get to help women remember that they have all the power inside them to create their dream life, whether that's through my in-demand self-healing platform (The Self Care Space), 1-2-1 therapy or business coaching, or inside my business start-up program, The Consciously Alive CEO.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating Silou London and selling into Soul Cycle, Equinox, Selfridges, and Goop was a huge achievement, and selling the majority shares of the company to focus on new ventures. But continuing to "feel the fear and do it anyway" is my mantra. I love the challenge of reinventing myself and finding success in new industries.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
It's tough at the start with anything new. You have to wear many, many hats and juggle loads of responsibility. There are no days off during those times, but it pays off in the end.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Get advice/support from someone that's already doing it and living the lifestyle you want. You get to make a quantum leap and fast-forward your success that way.
