Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in hospitality but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Philip Clift, Owner of Petite Anse Hotel and Restaurant, located in Sauteurs, Grenada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Petite Anse Hotel and Restaurant has a mix of local and overseas customers who love to take a break from a busy lifestyle. We're a tropical escape for busy people who want to get away from it all.

Tell us about yourself

Back in 2007, I came across a beautiful piece of land with the most spectacular view. I wanted to show people the beauty of the island of Grenada in the Caribbean and how beautiful this area is, including the view. So I bought the land and had plans drawn up for the hotel. Every day I enjoy hosting guests and showing them what's special about Grenada, the food, and the people who work with me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating a beautiful hotel with staff that welcomes guests with warm smiles.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being responsible for it all. That comes with the territory.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Believe in your dreams, work hard and be consistent with your values in the actions you take.
