Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in language education but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Pedro Coutinho Campos, Founder of Portuguesepedia, located in Malmö, Sweden.

What's your business, and who are your customers? is a language learning platform offering quality online courses and compelling short stories for learners of European Portuguese.

Tell us about yourself

I am a Portuguese Expat living in Sweden, and my own experience learning Swedish as a second language inspired me to help other people do the same in relation to Portuguese – that’s how the idea of creating came to my mind.

Being a creative person, what most motivates me and feels more satisfying about my job is its content creation component, which is a big part of it. Luckily, I get to create new content nearly every day (be it in the form of video, graphic design, or writing) as I develop and work on the platform.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The moment I realized that I could actually make a living out of running gave me so far the highest sense of accomplishment. It just is a great deal to me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Dealing with all the uncertainties and lack of financial stability from being a small entrepreneur and starting a new project from scratch has surely been the biggest challenge.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Believe in it. Be consistent and keep showing up. Be patient. (And don’t forget to be kind to yourself and take your breaks)

Where can people find you and your business?
