Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kevin Munoz, Owner of PEAK PT, located in Germantown, MD, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are in the business of helping people realize their true potential, eliminate their limiting beliefs, and increase their physical and mental well-being. It isn't about survival; it's about living, it isn't about length of life, it's about quality of life.

Tell us about yourself

I started as a trainer after constant injuries left me sidelines for the sport I love most (soccer). I didn't want athletes to be held back by injuries. The best thing you can do when it comes to injury is prevention, and that comes through strength training. Seeing people realize their potential and empowering our people, and watching that transcend into other aspects of their life is what wakes me up at 4 am every day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Having a service that works. We have a system that works, and we have people that care. Building a company, a team, and a service that is customer-oriented. We use methods backed by science, trainers backed by education, and a community backed by hardworking, supportive members.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest part of being a business owner is knowing when to take off certain hats. When you start, and we are very much starting, you do it all. Knowing when you're ready to take certain hats and bringing in the proper people to trust in doing what you will no longer do is a tough one.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find yourself in a state of action.
  2. Stay Consistent in that action.
  3. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Make them, make them often, make them early, and don't make them again.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I own a gym with my partner, and it oversees a large warehouse that I used to help my parents clean for ten years, from the age of 7-17. When I open the garage in the back of the gym, I can see the building, and there is nothing more inspiring than that.
