Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jeremy Panda, director of Peace And Cotton Inc., located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We manufacture beautiful. It starts with your vision. You'd like to customize something, and you feel conformed by the restraints of the companies that make things too. We don't use brakes. There are no brakes. Carte Blanche Customization and Dream Weaving your Creative Intentions. That's Peace and Cotton.

Tell us about yourself

I created this company out of obtaining a University degree in Jazz Performance and Cultural Studies in Fine Arts - and my love of playing semi-professional pool, tennis, and a little chess. This took a distant second to my love for people and my craving to know and understand others.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have built a company that is Creative, Competent, Coherent, and always searching to find fun ways to add order to chaos through beauty, vision, and Carte Blanche Customization.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

If you're not ready to look at yourself in the mirror at least a dozen times a year and ask yourself if this is what you really want to do while you watch your finances hit peaks and valleys in the likeness of a pogo stick, it's not for you. I'm an adrenaline junkie.. so this fits right in.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take your sock -- and move it around so that the seam is directly under the flat part of your foot. This discomfort should push you to want to understand yourself more... don't fix it. Walk the next four years with that set in that way. Now you've begun to understand what this is all about.
  2. You'd never worry so much about what others thought of you if you knew how little others thought of you.
  3. Is it your dream or theirs? If it was theirs would you be ok with it?

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Not so much. However, Divergence is the key to creative punctuation and filling your time.
