Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sana Motlekar, founder of PCOS Weight Loss Dietitian, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I run a virtual practice focused on PCOS + Weight Loss for Women who want to get their symptoms under control without giving up their cultural foods or foods they love. I teach women the science, strategy, and systems needed to lead a healthy and fun life while still reaching their goals.

Tell us about yourself

I started my business when COVID hit, and I had to pivot to virtual practice. I started creating content for my ideal clients. I had such positive feedback that it motivated me to keep going even though content creation is very time-consuming. Getting messages like "your post helped me improve my relationship with food" would make my day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to make a difference in my clients' lives and see them thrive, and build a healthy relationship with food.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

If you are a solopreneur like me, then wearing a lot of different hats can really be challenging and exhausting but keep going because you do learn a lot from this.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

No matter what business you run, social media should be a big part of your marketing strategy. Also, don't hold back from investing in yourself. For example, investing in a business coach or spending money on getting professional photos or getting someone to build your website, etc. Highly recommend delegating work/tasks to others that are not in your zone; you are not a genius (websites etc.).

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

The secret sauce to a successful business is consistency, so keep at it even if you don't think it's perfect.

Where can people find you and your business?
