What's your business, and who are your customers?

As a Registered Massage Therapist, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Registered D.O.M.P, and Certified Medical Aesthetician with over 15 years of experience in providing holistic, non-invasive treatment for wellness and healing, I have specialized in applying aromatherapy, reflexology, prenatal massage therapy, and manual lymphatic drainage treatment.

I serve my clients by providing massage treatments to help heal, relieve and/or reduce any pain, stress, or tensions in the body, with additional knowledge and experience working with cancer patients and pregnant women. My mission is to bring positive energy and provide treatments with my knowledge, experience, and genuine interest in getting clients to feel their best to do what they love!

Tell us about yourself

As a curious individual that loves to learn continuously and with great interest in promoting health and wellness, I became introduced to the field of Registered Massage Therapy in the healthcare industry. I felt it was a suitable career for me, as it would allow me to use my detailed eyes and interpersonal skills to provide personalized treatments and help people. I found it especially rewarding to help cancer patients after surgery and provide manual lymph drainage services to relieve painful swelling caused by lymphedema. What motivates me every day is knowing that I am helping people feel less pain and discomfort while doing what I love.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a Canadian woman, I feel great accomplishment in having established a business for myself in the beautiful capital of Canada, with strong connections with my clients who seek my treatments.

It is truly a great feeling to be using my knowledge and skills to help others feel better who feel noticeable improvements in their health through my services.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being a business owner takes a lot of skills and knowledge to be an expert in the field, so it takes a lot of discipline and continuous learning to stay organized and aware of the economy and industry approaches.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find your interest, and be creative in the path you would like to take through assessing the needs of others and where help is needed that could utilize your skills.
  2. Always continue learning in the field, whether it is through work experience, further education, or reading relevant articles on your own.
  3. Be kind to yourself and others. Starting, running, and growing a business takes a lot of patience. Be kind to yourself to note that you are learning and growing every day, and stay in touch and check in with how others are doing. No one can do everything alone, and it is important to have a strong support system and good community to help you grow and pursue your passion for a long time.
