Tell us about yourself

I started my first business 15 years ago in the health food industry and grew product businesses worldwide. I establish my businesses out of my personal needs. I became the first time and single mom two years ago. My son was born a few months into the Pandemic.

A time when I moved continents, lost my business, and started two others, moved houses three times before settling into our new home, and started all over again. My mission is to empower parents to thrive, providing them with the tools, platforms, and knowledge that enable them to live their best lives. The success and happiness of other families are my motivation. They inspire me every day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Having a positive impact on what I do. My first ever product was a raw vegan energy bar. Being a vegan back in Sydney in 2007 wasn't great for snacking. So I created a solution. Then I moved into the gut health industry. And finally moved into the online education space for all my support-seeking parents. I am always my first customer.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Constantly challenged me, and now balancing being a single mom with business. Days can be challenging when your kid gets sick. Setting priorities, boundaries, and a system in place is essential.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't start a business for the money. Do what you love.
  2. Find a mentor and an accountability buddy.
  3. Set an outrageous goal and reverse engineer your path to get there. Then take one step at a time.
  4. Find your team that shares the same vision. It takes a village to grow a successful business. No one ever builds an empire on their own.
We also have a free live workshop on October 20th on becoming a financially empowered parent if you'd like to share it with your community.
