Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Pam DeArmon, Founder of Pam DeArmon Creative, LLC., located in Ashland, KY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Pam DeArmon Creative is a design company working primarily with female coaches and other entrepreneurs to help them plan & design online courses, coaching materials, and other digital products.

Tell us about yourself

I am a homeschooling mom of 2 quirky boys, and while I absolutely love my kids...I realized that I needed something of my own. After ten years of being a SAHM, I started my business in 2021. I have moved from blogging to design work in that time frame, and I absolutely love working with my clients. I have met so many incredible people who inspire me every single day. I woke up each day energized by the client's work and excited to meet new people. My entire world has expanded.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would have to say that I have built my business completely from scratch, having no idea how to build an online business...but step by step, I have done it. I am fiercely proud of myself.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Definitely mindset issues. Doubt and imposter syndrome are mental killers. If you don't have a network to help combat these mindset issues, I can see how easy it would be to give up.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a business coach. Look for someone who has been in your shoes and work with them.
  2. Get plugged into a solid network - this can help with bartering services in the early days if you are a start-up with zero capital and then with client referrals later on.
  3. Get solid systems in place. If you aren't organized....you are toast.
