What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a full-service catering company that provides fresh, locally sourced, and mostly organic food creations. Oz Catering menus are inspired by middle eastern, Asian, and California cuisine. We like to create food with a twist. A little surprise ingredient that you normally don’t expect is a dish like prawns marinated in kalamata olives, fresh basil, garlic, and preserved lemons, wrapped in prosciutto, grilled, and drizzle lightly with bittersweet chocolate.

We have a vast menu with over 50 choices on our Hors d’œuvres menu for your cocktail reception and numerous entrée, including many gluten-free and vegetarian options for your main feast. Our staff gets highly praised at every event, for being professional and for doing above and beyond their duty. Oz Catering team takes pride and pleasure in providing our clients with a unique experience.

Tell us about yourself

I was born in Jerusalem, Israel. From a very early age, I was helping my mom in her pension kitchen. We cooked lunches and dinners, and I’ve learned all the basics from watching my mom. Over the years, my love for food and cooking manifested in a job. I was hired to help a local caterer, then took a position as a chef at a cafe in Jerusalem. A bit later, I worked and managed a restaurant. I kept educating myself about food and learned a lot from working with caterers. I realized that catering is the right food avenue for me. Waking up in the morning and going to work, knowing ill be cooking and creating, fills me with joy.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think my biggest accomplishment is that people recognize Oz Catering when mentioned and praise and recommend Oz to do our wizardry for their events.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Paper work.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. It helps if you choose something you like to do for your occupation.
