What's your business, and who are your customers?
Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing) is quickly sweeping the globe as a preferred method to help manage mental and physical wellness. Founded in Japan, Forest Bathing is a practice typically led by a professionally certified guide. Participants can expect to feel rejuvenated, more balanced, and generally feel better in their bodies and minds.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Scott Berry, and I am a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide (ANFT) and a certified wilderness guide. I have been working and adventuring in the mountains, near where I grew up, my whole life. I realized firsthand how living close to nature had served my physical and mental wellness. I have been trained in various healing modalities and have found the greatest success with forest bathing.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have managed to build a word-of-mouth climate. This is a result of guest-focused experience and value.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being available all the time and the ups and downs that can occur with business cycles.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Make sure you love what you are selling or offering. Focus on building solid relationships built on strong foundations of trust, and be prepared to shift your strategy.
