Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brandy Hunt, Founder of On the Write Track®, located in Greenville, SC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

On the Write Track® is a full-service book publishing company that provides aspiring authors with services to help them make their dreams of publishing a book a reality.

Tell us about yourself

I created my business in 2014 because of a need I discovered as I published my first book. There was nobody in my local area or online that fit my needs in regard to budget, time, or relevance. I published my own book, and then others began to call me for assistance. As I continued, I added services such as life coaching, business coaching, and motivational speaking.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being the first black woman in my region to start a publishing company.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is realizing that you can't help everybody.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Delegate as much as you can.
  2. Identify your target audience and make that a priority for at least one year.
  3. Go to events in your community to let them know you exist.
